Golf fans demand US Open winner is banned instantly for disgusting act at this year’s tournament.

Golf fans have called for drastic actions for one player after a ‘disgusting’ act at this year’s US Open. The 2025 US Open has proven to be one of the most difficult tournaments in recent memory due to the location of this year’s flagship event.

Oakmont Country Club is renowned as one of the most challenging courses on the planet with narrow fairways, treacherous rough and lightning fast greens with slopes that are sometimes impossible to read.

Even the best golfers in the world have struggled, with last year’s winner and world no.10 Bryson DeChambeau failing to make the cut alongside the likes of Ludvig Aberg, Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson and Joaquin Niemann who all failed to make the weekend.
Another player to miss the cut was 2023 champion Wyndham Clark who has been slammed by fans online for actions after another poor round.

Tron Carter from NoLayingUp reported that Clark had lashed out in Oakmont’s iconic clubhouse and caused damage to the locker room. He later posted an image of the alleged damage with fans quick to voice their opinion.
One fan said: “Should be banned from Oakmont.”

Another said: “He should be suspended. This is ridiculous. The tour and the USGA should make statements strongly condemning the club throwing, profanity, and all the other antics that have become the norm in the professional game.”

A third wrote: “No, this is unacceptable anywhere. He’s a guest of Oakmont. You don’t do this ever.”
A fourth concluded: “Kicked from the PGA Tour for the rest of the year and banned for life from Oakmont.”

Oakmont’s locker room is living museum of history at the iconic course with wooden benches featuring spike marks from golfers such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. It’s not the first time Clark has lashed out during the current golf season and was forced to issue an apology during the recent PGA Championship major won by Scottie Scheffler.

After hitting a wayward drive on hole 16, Clark turned around and launched his driver against an advertising board causing it to snap.
The 31-year-old isn’t the only player to show visible frustration at Oakmont this week. Current Masters champion Rory McIlroy has also come under fire from fans for losing his composure under pressure.

Struggling to make the cut, the Northern Irishman flung his club down the fairway following a poor approach shot on the 12th hole.
Then, on the par-4 17th, McIlroy took out his anger on a white US Open tee marker, smashing it after his drive veered off course.
