The 16-year-old clinched his first American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) victory with a three-shot win at the Team TaylorMade Invitational in Bowling Green, Florida.
He came from one shot behind in the final round of his fifth AJGA event — echoing Woods’ own junior golf rise, which included eight AJGA wins between 1991 and 1993.
Holywood, Belfast, neighbours organized a candlelit vigil outside St. Mark’s Church for tomorrow evening. Pastor Liam Gallagher said, “Rosie’s kindness touched every life here.
We’ll pray through the night for her recovery.” At Royal County Down Golf Club, members placed white roses and inscribed golf balls at the 18th hole as a touching tribute.
Corporate sponsors rushed in—Nike Golf and TaylorMade pledged to cover any medical bills beyond insurance, while Rory’s foundations raised over £200,000 in hours for the family and stroke‑awareness initiatives.
Across Ireland, schools observed a moment of silence before sporting events, and golf academies collected get‑well‑soon cards for delivery to the hospital.
